Manage bonds
Bonds are a sum that are held as security and will generally be reimbursed at a future date. For example, a bond can be held as a deposit for supplied hardware that will be refunded upon return or as a security deposit to mitigate a potential risk of default when providing credit to a customer. For more information, see the User Guide.
Managing bonds lets you apply and release bonds on accounts. You can also retrieve information about bonds available in Smile and applied to an account.
The following methods manage bonds:
- getBondTypes() returns information on the bonds available in Smile.
- getHeldBonds() returns a list of bonds on an account, including released bonds.
- createBond() creates a bond on an account.
- releaseBond() releases a bond from an account.
