Delete an account

Deleting an account permanently removes the account from the Smile database. To avoid data loss, we recommend that you delete only new accounts that were created in error.

You cannot delete an account that has activity in a reporting period after the reporting period is closed.

If you delete an operator account, Smile moves the operator's Smile subscription to the Graveyard account. This account stores deleted Smile subscriptions, and ensures that you can always view a record of a previous operator's actions in Smile.

This task explains how to delete an account.

  1. Search for the account that you want to delete, then double-click the account entry in the search results.
    The Account summary page is displayed.
  2. On the Account menu, click Delete Account..., then click Continue.
    Smile deletes the account.
