Create a payment plan

A payment plan lets a customer pay an outstanding balance in agreed installments. After you create a payment plan, Smile suspends credit control actions against the invoices in the plan.

This task explains how to create a payment plan.

  1. Search for the account to create a payment plan against, then double-click the account entry in the search results.
    The Account summary page is displayed.
  2. On the Account Menu Tree, click Payment Plans.
    The Payment Plans page is displayed.
  3. Click Create a new payment plan...
    The Payment plan window is displayed.
  4. Click Select next to each invoice to include in the payment plan.
    Smile adds the value of each invoice to the value in the Total amount field. You can add multiple invoices to the same payment plan.
  5. Enter the required payment information. Smile displays different fields for each payment type, for example, credit card number and expiry date fields for credit card payments.
  6. Click Create payment plan.
    Smile creates the payment plan and displays the pending payments in the plan.
