Manage plans

A plan is a set of rules that determines how much to charge for a subscription. Plans include usage, recurring and setup charges, charge rules, and other plan settings such as minimum usage charges and included value. A charge rule specifies the cost for a particular type of usage, for example, the flagfall for a national call or the amount of data included in a ADSL plan. You choose the plan a subscription uses when you create the subscription.

Each plan has a plan schedule associated with it, which specifies the plan the subscription uses at a particular point in time. The plan schedule lets you change the plan that a subscription uses now, in the past or in the future.

Managing a subscription's plan lets you:
  • view the subscription's current plan and the charges within the plan
  • view the plan schedule, so you can check future plan changes
  • change the plan

You cannot change a subscription's plan if a subscription is under contract. However, if a customer needs to break a contract and change their plan, you can cancel the existing contract, change the plan then add a new contract to the subscription.
