Transfer funds between accounts

You can transfer a credit or a debit from one account to another. For example, you may need to transfer a security deposit from a customer's account to an unallocated fund account to ensure the customer's account balance remains correct.

The following table outlines how transferred credits and debits appear in the Account History.

This task explains how to transfer funds between accounts.

  1. Search for the account from which you want to transfer funds, then double-click the account entry in the search results.
    The Account summary page is displayed.
  2. On the Account menu, click Transfer Between Accounts...
    The Transfer page is displayed.
  3. Click Select next to the To Account field.
    The Find account window is displayed.
  4. Type the name of the account to which you want to transfer funds in the Search field, click Search and click Select next to the account to which you want to transfer funds.
    The new account name appears in the To Account field.
  5. Type the amount to transfer in the Amount field and click Transfer.
    To transfer a credit, enter a positive number. To transfer a debit, enter a negative number.
    Smile transfers the credit or debit into the specified account.
