Surcharges

A surcharge is an extra fee added to another fee or charge, for example, a fee for a paper bill or a processing fee for credit card payments. Smile can apply different surcharges to different payment methods.

Smile does not include surcharges in an invoice total, but adds a surcharge to the invoice value when processing a payment.

Smile displays invoices and surcharges as separate transactions. After you pay a surcharge, Smile allocates the surcharge to the receipt that includes the surcharge payment.

The surcharges that an account has paid are displayed on an account's Transactions page.
