Attach a file

Attaching a file to an account lets you store additional material in Smile. For example, you can attach a PDF version of a customer's contract to their account.

This task explains how to attach a file.

  1. Search for the account to which you want to attach files, then double-click the account entry in the search results.
    The Account summary page is displayed.
  2. On the Account Menu Tree, click Files.
    The Files page appears and lists any files already attached to the account.
  3. Click Add attachment...
    The Add Attachment window is displayed.
  4. Enter a name and description for the file.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Select the File attachment type, click Choose File and select the file to attach.
    • Select the URL attachment type and enter the URL of the file to attach in the URL field.
  6. Click Add attachment.
    Smile attaches the file to the account.
