Stop a recurring charge

To stop a standard recurring charge, you change the end date for the charge. After you change the end date, Smile reviews the existing recurring charges and issues any necessary adjustments.

Warning: If you stop a recurring charge, Smile permanently removes the charge from consideration when it processes the billing run. No new charges or refunds are raised after you cancel the charge. Smile does not delete or refund any charges that were already raised against the subscription.
CAUTION:
If you alter a recurring charge, you need to set an end date on the existing charge before you add a new charge at the different rate, otherwise all periods in the past will re-rate at the new rate.

This task explains how to stop a recurring charge.

  1. Search for the subscription for which you want to end a recurring charge, then double-click the subscription entry in the search results.
    The subscription's summary page is displayed.
  2. Click Edit next to the recurring charge.
    The Recurring Charge window is displayed.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Enter an end date in the Last charge date field.
    • Click Cancel charging to cancel charging immediately.
  4. Click Save, then click Continue.
    Smile ends the recurring charge on the specified date.
